Auditory Neuropathy

Abstract

 

 

 

"Auditory neuropathy" term describes a disorder in patients with hearing loss confirmed with pure tone audiograms but impaired word discrimination out of portion to the pure tone thresholds, absent or abnormal auditory brain-stem responses, and normal outer hair cell activity demonstrated with preserved cochlear microphonics and otoacoustic emission result. In this study, 3 patients who were identified as auditory neuropathy are reported.
