Incidence
of otitis media with effusion and negative pressure in the middle ear,
their epidemiology and etiological factors were investigated in 200 ears
of 100 children in a kindergarten. The ages of 51 girls and 49 boys were
between 3-6. The
incidences of otitis media with effusion and negative pressure in the
middle ear are higher in the kindergarten group with reference to the
2-6 age group of the normal population. The children carry etiologic and
epidemiological risk factors originating from themselves, their
families, their environment and day care facilities. Otitis media with
effusion and negative pressure in the middle ear prevalence are high in
these children. In preventive medicine these children must be followed
with screening and routine examinations. |
